There are days when I want to do it all — fold the laundry, clean the dishes, run the house like a Proverbs 31 superhero. But truthfully? Most days, I just can’t. My body is tired, my strength is limited, and energy comes in short, unpredictable bursts. It’s a toss-up between the bed and my computer chair — wherever I can sit (or recline) and just be.
And yet, even in that stillness, even in that place of feeling “less than,” God shows up — whispering that grace was never something I had to earn in the first place.
The Real MVPs in My Home
My husband and son do most of the housework now. They handle the meals, the laundry, the errands — not because I asked them to, but because they love me. And I’ll be honest: sometimes there is resentment. Sometimes it’s hard. The sighs are audible, the eye rolls aren’t always subtle, and the weariness shows.

But you know what? They still show up. For love’s sake. And that? That’s sacred.
Even in the grumbling, I see grace. Their quiet (and sometimes not-so-quiet) acts of service remind me of Jesus — who loved even when it cost Him something. Who gave, even when it wasn’t glamorous.
Grace Looks Different These Days
Sometimes grace looks like getting up and brushing my teeth before noon. Sometimes it’s choosing to smile when my body wants to cry. Sometimes it’s logging onto my computer just to write something honest, like this, even when my muscles are protesting every movement.
Here’s what I’m learning:
- God doesn’t keep score. He’s not tallying chores — He’s looking at our hearts.
- Help is not weakness. It’s part of the design. We were never meant to carry it all alone.
- Rest can be holy. Even when it feels unproductive, God is working in us — strengthening our spirit when our flesh is frail.
Humour Helps Too
Let’s be real — if I didn’t laugh, I’d probably cry. And sometimes? I do both in the same five minutes.
My husband is always cracking jokes — making light of my weaknesses, not to dismiss them, but to lift the weight of them. He knows I struggle. I know I struggle. And sometimes, when I feel inadequate or frustrated by what I can’t do, he brings laughter into the room like it’s medicine — reminding me I am still loved, still valuable, still me.

And I’ve learned to be silly too. To laugh at myself. To make jokes before the tears fall, or sometimes right after. Because if I’m going to carry these limitations, I might as well decorate them with a little wit.
Laughter doesn’t make the struggle disappear — but it makes it lighter. And sometimes, that’s enough.
To You — Yes, You
If you’re sitting in your own version of the bed or the computer chair, feeling like you’re falling behind or not doing “enough” — let me gently remind you:
🌿 You are not your productivity.
🌿 You are still walking in purpose.
🌿 You are loved — right now, exactly as you are.
God’s grace meets us not when we “get it all together,” but when we admit we can’t — and invite Him into the gaps.
Let’s Encourage One Another
Have you had a “God-met-me-here” moment lately — even if it happened in the middle of your bedhead, brain fog, or browser tabs?
Maybe it was a whispered prayer answered in an unexpected way.
Maybe it was a moment of laughter in the middle of your limits.
Maybe it was just knowing you’re held — even when you feel like you’re falling apart.

I’d love to hear about it. Let’s laugh together, cry if we need to, and lift each other up in the comments.
You’re not alone. And your story might just be the encouragement someone else needs today.
